Game Plan
You may have heard that the Patriots had some important games lately. But what are a couple of parents to do when they both want to watch but it falls right in the middle of the afternoon and their 3-year-old has absolutely no interest in football? Come up with a game plan, of course!
The Patriots playoff run was a pleasant surprise, but the timing of our games could have been better. Rather than a night game, which conveniently happens mostly after bedtime, we mostly played right in the middle of the afternoon. This has presented some logistical challenges when it comes to watching.
The first item in our game plan was some independent play activities. We stocked up on new coloring books and stickers that we knew she’d like. Next, a carefully curated dinner menu of homemade pizza and cucumber. These are two of her favorite foods so we knew she’d eat them well and for a long time, without much prodding from mom and dad to keep eating her vegetables.
When all was said and done, Briana was busy, happy, and well fed. And mom and dad got to watch the Patriots make it far further than even the most optimistic fan could have imagined. They may not have won the Super Bowl, but it sure was a fun ride.
