Nora Daniels, CFP®
I’m absolutely elated to announce that I am now a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional! My journey to becoming a CFP® certificant was quite an interesting few years. I was still working in a marketing role when I first started taking the courses that would inevitably lead me to switch careers and I also had a baby during that time. While some may think that would make it harder, it made me extremely intentional with all my time. Plus, I was able to fit in some extra hours of studying when she woke me up in the night and I couldn’t fall back asleep, as I could always flip through some flash cards.
I passed the CFP® Exam back in March 2023, right before Saoirse’s first birthday. It really was a gift for both of us, as I was studying 20+ hours a week and now had a lot of extra time. The exam took six hours and I am very happy to have passed on my first attempt. The longest part of the two years leading up to the exam was in the thirty seconds it took the computer to calculate my grade and show me the word I’d been dreaming of seeing – ‘PASS’.
After passing, I was not yet a CFP® Professional, as I had to finish up my experience hours, which I finished in July. And only then was it official! To be honest, I still flip through the flash cards I made while I was studying for the CFP® Exam because the content is so interesting and helpful. And there’s always more to know!
