Halloween

Halloween has quickly become the second best day of the year in our house (trailing only Christmas).  Briana loved it last year, so she was very excited this time around, and it did not disappoint.  She loves pretty much every aspect of it.

First is, of course, the candy.  Last year she just played with it – organizing by size and color – and never really asked to eat any, which was fine with us.  But this year she wants to eat some and to no one’s surprise has really enjoyed eating a little here and there.

Then there’s the decorations.  Briana enjoyed helping put up some little pumpkins and things around our house.  I think outdoor displays have really become more popular in the last few years, and she liked that too.  We spent several nights driving around the neighborhood after dinner, checking out some pretty impressive displays.  There was one 2-3 foot tall talking pumpkin that was a particularly big hit.

Finally, there is of course trick or treating on Halloween night.  This year’s costume was a bunny (bringing in a little bit of our third favorite holiday, Easter).  She loved going up to all the doors, and we ended up being out for almost two hours.
